A graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design, earning a BFA in Painting and Sculpture and a Minor in Graphic Design. I love to draw, pure and simple. I am especially drawn to the reflections of light on glass and liquid surfaces. I blew glass in college, and found it a most stimulating medium to work with. But being a rather small woman, I found the tools and the weight of the molten glass a bit much. But the appreciation of the surface of glass has always intrigued me. There is glass an liquid in some form in almost all my work.
Besides being an Artist of Texas (and proud of it) I'm a member of the National Association of Women Artists which has allowed my work to be exhibited in New York City over the past two years. I also compete Nationally and Internationally, and in the State of Texas. I was a 2012 finalist for the Hunting Art Prize in Houston and have entered the competition again. I will be in the Richeson 75 Small Works Competition Catalog, Spring 2014. Look for the works over the next two years to be focused on a strong Texas theme, starting with these two yellow roses, in a variety of styles and using different media.
