Born and raised in Texas I have spent most of my life in Richardson, Texas. My husband and I raised our two daughters there and now enjoy five almost perfect grandchildren.
I began painting in 2008 when I retired from a career of working in the development and education of children. Play is the work of children; it is how they learn and grow. In the same manner, painting for me is like play for a child. It pushes and stretches and challenges me to learn more and grow creatively as well as personally. I work primarily with oils and sometimes enjoy dabbling with encaustic wax. Painting is like telling a story on canvas, so I like to paint simple things and captured moments that give me joy.
I am so grateful for artists that have provided instruction and encouragement for me in this area: Bonny Leibowitz, Virginia Vaughan, Michael O'Keefe, and Gail Smith as well as many who have taken the time to write books, articles and blogs.
